It's hard for me to tell a European how happy this makes me. Although I am a Texan, I have long been in the political minority in this state. Here we suffered through 6 years of Bush and his minions cutting all kinds of social services for the elderly and the poor. Then he ended up U.S. president for 8 years, taking his stupidity global. I cannot explain how any of this happened, other than to remind of a quote by the American circus entrepreneur Phineas T. Barnum: "There's one born every minute." He was referring to suckers.
