Bar Juggling in the English Garden

Walking one warm summer day in the English Garden (a public park) in Geneva, I came across these three young men who were practicing their bar juggling on the lawn. After filming them, I asked them for their permission to upload the video onto the web. They acquiesced warmly! I found the perfect piece of music on the Current APM music library. There is one particularly magic moment when the young man with a red shirt's movements match the music absolutely perfectly - 1:20 to 1:50 or thereabouts! At one point, a rude old lady walked right in front of my camera in spite of my signs to her asking her to walk behind me. I slightly lost my cool at that point. Don't you hate it when people do that to you?

Anyway, the old lady notwithstanding, I am quite pleased with this little video.

For best results, click on HQ as soon as the video launches, and use headphones.

Enjoy!

Cannabis Cures Cancer - "Run From The Cure" The Rick Simpson Story

After a serious head injury in 1997, Rick Simpson sought relief from his medical condition through the use of medicinal hemp oil. When Rick discovered that the hemp oil (with its high concentration of T.H.C.) cured cancers and other illnesses, he tried to share it with as many people as he could free of charge. When the story went public, the long arm of the law snatched the medicine - leaving potentially thousands of people without their cancer treatments - and leaving Rick with unconsitutional charges of possessing and trafficking marijuana!

To honour the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin

"Charles Darwin and the Tree of Life" is a documentary about Charles Darwin and his revolutionary theory of evolution through natural selection, produced by the BBC to mark the bicentenary of Darwin's birth. It is part of the BBC Darwin Season. The presenter, David Attenborough, outlines the development of the theory by Darwin through his observations of animals and plants in nature and in the domesticated state, visiting sites important in Darwin's own life, including Down House, Cambridge University and the Natural History Museum, and using archive footage from Attenborough's many nature documentaries for the BBC. He reviews the development of the theory since its beginnings, and its revolutionary impact on the way in which humans view themselves - not as having dominion over the animals as the Bible says, but being an animal and controlled by the same forces that control the other animals.

Gender Puzzle

Are we on the cusp of discovering what determines gender? The old mantra - all girls have XX chromosomes and all boys have XY - is no longer reliable. Scientists are now looking beyond chromosomes to "brain sex" and the role of newly discovered genes. By studying transsexuals and people on the gender extremes, they believe they can unlock the gender puzzle. This high-quality documentary looks at the new and challenging science of gender.
